SJAM In Person School Council Meeting: Tuesday September 16, 2025
Dear Mustang Community:
School Council is excited to host their first meeting of 2025-26. This meeting will be in person in the Learning Commons. The front doors will open at 6:15 pm for the 6:30 – 8:00 meeting.
Presentations include a special guest: Ms. Stephanie Howe, Grade 7 Learning Leader. Students Council and Administration will also provide a report.

One of the most important ways parents/guardians and community members can make a meaningful difference for students is by participating on the school council. Under the Education Act, a school council is a collective association designed to advise the principal and the CBE Board of Trustees on matters related to the school. School councils have legislated advisory and decision-making authority defined within the Education Act and the School Councils Regulation. They are different from Parent Societies & Associations, whose main function is to raise funds for the school. You can find more details in the CBE School Council Handbook.

Healthy Hunger Fun Lunches
Parent Volunteers are offering access to 'Healthy Hunger' lunch opportunities.
Step 1: Create an account - there are two schools with our name - please select "Sir John A Macdonald" (no period after the A).

Step 2: Order lunch for your children utilizing their deadlines.
* This is optional - not all students participate.
* Students pick up their lunches from the Learning Commons.
* If your child is absent, parents can pick up food items in the afternoon from the main office. Note: We can keep the lunch overnight in the fridge, if required. Unfortunately, we cannot keep lunches for an extended period of time if your child is home ill.
