Dear Mustang Families

We are excited to welcome you to the school on Thursday September 12 from 6:00 – 7:30 pm for our “Meet the Teacher” evening.

What is the purpose of “Meet the Teacher”? These evenings are created to provide families with an opportunity to become acquainted with the teacher, the curriculum, the assessment policies and how to best contact the teacher. Please be aware that this is not intended as a student parent-teacher conference.

Before the event, please talk with your child to review their timetable and complete the chart. Your child’s SMATH teacher will review page 2 with your child on or around Wednesday September 11. Your child’s timetable is also available in MyCBE.

  • There are five-time blocks for families to connect with four different teacher combinations.
  • A 10-minute mini presentation will provide teachers with an opportunity to build relationships with families.
  • Each family will have a different experience depending on which teachers they would like to meet. If you have more than one child attending our school, please decide which classes and which teachers you would like to meet.

The following possibilities exist (families decide the order):

  • Science/Math (SMATH) and Language Arts/Social Studies (HUM) together. Locations vary.
  • Physical Education team: in the main gym.
  • Complementary 1: please visit the teacher's classroom.
  • Complementary 2: please visit the teacher’s classroom.

As an optional stop, families are welcome to come to the back of the library to visit Ms. Billeck in “Mustang Station”, a space for students to self-regulate if they are struggling.

On our ‘Meet the Teacher’ evening, please have your child join you for the individual classroom visits.

  • If your child cannot attend with you, there will be Leadership students in the hallways offering support.
  • Students will soon be able to access their teacher’s individual Brightspace/D2L course shells: https://d2l.cbe.ab.ca/d2l/loginh/

As a school community, we recognize the benefits of forming strong relationships with each member of a student’s support system. You know your child best! When you have an opportunity to meet our teachers, we know it will be easier for you to reach out. Thank you, in advance, for joining us at the 2024-25 Meet the Teacher evening.

With appreciation, Mustang Staff
