Dear Mustang Families:

Please forward this weekly message to your child's personal email! We have also started posting these messages on our website.

On Thursday April 11 (6:30 - 8:00 pm), the CBE is hosting their last virtual mental health series for 2023-24. The focus is ‘Healthy Sexual Development’. Families can sign up at this link: CBE Professional Learning Series. The session is described below:

As the first and most important sexuality educators, parents and caregivers play a critical role in their children’s healthy sexual development. Learn how, when and why to talk to your children about sexuality and how to support healthy values development in children. This session will also explore what sex education looks like at school and how you can support it.

On Tuesday April 16, School Council will be hosting the second last meeting of the year. If you are interested in joining the Council, you are welcome to attend the meeting and/or email for details about open positions: sjam.council@gmail.com. Our School Council parents offer outstanding support to your child’s learning community. We welcome new parents who want to become more involved.

Thank you to the many parents who offered feedback on our School Development Plan and School fees. We will review these results at our upcoming School Council meeting. They are also posted on our website: School Planning Engagement (please scroll to the bottom for results).

Athletics Update

Mr. Jones (sdjones@cbe.ab.ca)

Our badminton teams are in the final stages of athlete selection. Student-athletes will prepare for smaller meets and divisional finals at Forest Lawn High School on May 13 (Grade 7), May 14 (Grade 8) and May 16 (Grade 9).

Track and Field is scheduled to start on Monday May 13.

All students are encouraged to attend Fit Club on Monday after school and Friday morning. It offers a great opportunity for athletic conditioning for 100% of our students.

Schedules can be found on the bulletin board across from the PE office and online in our SJAM Athletic Center
