Dear Mustang Families:

Please forward this weekly message to your child's personal email! We have also started posting these messages on our website.

Our Grade 9 Leadership students are organizing a Texas Donut fundraiser for the farewell through School Council. Please see full details at this link. Delivery will take place on Wednesday June 5.

Gratitude is extended to the many parents who stepped forward to volunteer at Calaway Park this past Friday. Your donation of time saves our families money in substitute costs whenever parents volunteer for school trips. If you are interested in volunteering at a future school activity, please follow the process in this link. Ms. Sherry Reynolds (sareynolds@cbe.ab.ca) can offer you support as well.

As 2023-24 ends, we are seeking your support with school fees. Payments can be made through the Parent Portal of MyCBE. Thank you to the many families who submitted all their fees. For those that are struggling financially, please reach out to Ms. Hornby (mahornby@cbe.ab.ca) to arrange payment in manageable installments.

Given CBE schools strive to be fiscally responsible with public funds, we are unable to provide a yearbook to students that ordered one and have not paid; yearbooks will be distributed on Tuesday June 25. We also need to see an effort that other fees are paid off in manageable installments. In high school, this practice will continue with yearbooks and tickets to graduation banquets being held back until efforts are made to submit payment for school fees.

Mustang of the Week

As the year draws to a close, we have two Mustangs of the Week.

Mr. Julian W. (75) is nominated by his peers for always stepping up to offer support; this recognition is supported by teachers as well. Julian’s leadership skills are impressive and innate, while he strives to be positive and helpful in class to his classmates. Julian often shows others how to resolve tech issues. His servant leadership style is valued and noticed by our school community.

Ms. Amy L. (78) has also been nominated by her peers. Teachers concur noting Amy’s citizenship and character are exemplary. In Leadership, Amy is willing to help in multiple ways offering essential support with clean up during our school dances. She is kind and polite to everyone in the school. Amy’s academic success is nurtured by her conscientious and dedicated approach to her studies.

Congratulations Julian and Amy!
