Dear Mustang Families:

Please forward this weekly message to your child's personal email! We have also started posting these messages on our website.

Save the date:  on Wednesday May 15, Drama students and Mr. Marinucci will be showcasing their dramatic talents in ‘15 Reasons Not To Be In A Play’.  Doors open at 6:00 pm; the play starts at 6:30 pm.  There is no charge for entry.  We look forward to seeing our drama students perform!

On the morning of Monday May 13, our Grade 9 students will be composing the written response for their Language Arts PAT. Provincial Achievement Tests (PATs) are administered annually to all Alberta students in grades 6 and 9. These standardized tests reflect the essentials that all Alberta students are expected to achieve, regardless of school choice or location. While important, PATs are only one of many ways to evaluate student learning and are not meant to replace day-to-day teacher observations and classroom assessment. They are sources of information that must be interpreted, used and communicated within the context of regular and continuous assessment by classroom teachers. If you would like to learn more, please reference the PAT Parent Guide. Pages 12-14 describe the Part A PAT.

When the Grade 9 students write their PAT next Monday morning, Grade 7 and 8 students will also practice a written response. Humanities teachers will provide further details in your child’s D2L shell this week.
