Together, We Make a Difference!
World Down Syndrome Day – Thursday, March 19
World Down Syndrome Day has been an official part of the United Nations calendar since 2012. At SJAM, we will celebrate on Thursday, March 19. Students and staff are encouraged to wear mismatched socks to celebrate diversity and raise awareness – chromosomes look similar to socks under a microscope. The campaign, often called #LotsOfSocks, symbolizes the extra 21st chromosome (Trisomy 21) that causes Down syndrome. This year's theme is "Together Against Loneliness."
